Welcome to Trails Untraveled
As our name indicates, we will help you go places and do things with your horse that you never thought possible. Whether your passion is to compete in shows, go trail riding in the woods, or pen cattle it all starts by building a strong foundation and understanding how your horse thinks. Signs your foundation or communication need work include: constant pulling on your horses mouth, often feeling frustrated or out of control with your horse. Bob Faath (see about the trainer) will show you how to present things in a way that make sense to the horse, when it makes sense it becomes easy. Then the horse will do it to the best of his ability. Bob explains “It is our responsibility to help the horse understand what we expect out of him and when. If we put a horse in a situation and allow him find his way out of it we help him to learn. What he learned now becomes his idea. When it’s the horses idea he will do it willingly. People can force a horse through anything, but I want mine to work with me willingly.” |

How to pick the right trainer for your horse
Unfortunately, there is no accreditation for horse trainers, but a good way to judge a trainer is look at their horses and see how responsive and content they are. A good horseman should never quit learning either. Having been around horses all his life Bob still rides with other teachers. He reads the history and current literature of various disciplines from dressage to reining and everything in between. Bob also has a talent with horses that you can visibly witness. He has the ability to connect with and understand what a specific horse needs, almost immediately. You can watch even the most bothered horse relax and calm down after being with Bob for a few minutes.
