Jordan Pond is an absolutely beautiful body of water nestled near the middle of Acadia National Park. The crystal clear and blue water contrast with the great mountains for a picturesque scene. The smooth trails and peaceful water provide a tranquil environment perfect for photography and hiking.

Location:
Acadia National Park, Maine

The parking lot for Jordan Pond is off Park Loop Rd shortly after it returns to a two-way road. The main parking lot near the pond house is not very large and will fill up quickly. Just north of the main lot is another parking lot with access to the pond. See interactive map for parking locations.

The Hike:

The hike is a dirt and gravel trail that circles around Jordan Pond. There is almost no elevation change making for a very easy and pleasant hike. At the start of the hike, Bubble Rock is on the far side of the pond making for an amazing view. Throughout the hike, the views are incredible. There are no bad views during the hike around the lake.

The total hike is around 3.5 miles and took a little over an hour. It is a great trail for children or anyone looking for a pleasant stroll. There are tons of great photo opportunities around the pond. The trail near the pond house was fairly crowded, but there were very few people on the far side of the lake making a very tranquil and pleasant hike.

  • You can eat at the restaurant at the Pond House overlooking the pond.
  • There will be a lot of people at Jordan Pond so finding parking can be hard.
